CUHK Mooncakes – Sharing Happiness and Reaching Everyone
As the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, how do you plan to celebrate this season of reunion? You can admire the moon with your loved ones, enjoy quality time together, and contribute your care and love to society. This year, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is bringing you a special choice that fulfills both of these wishes – the CUHK Mooncakes.
CUHK has joined hands again with the social enterprise Caritas La Vie* to launch “CUHK Mooncake“. Following the success of last year’s mooncake box design, we are pleased to invite our alumna Stella Lam (Fine Arts, Class of 2016) to design the mooncake packaging box, using a unique illustration style to depict the charming scenery of the Pavilion of Harmony. “CUHK Mooncake” allows everyone to savour the flavours of mooncakes with family and friends in the Mid-Autumn Festival.
The CUHK Mooncakes come in a box of 4 low-sugar dual-yolk white lotus paste mooncakes, with only 10.8g of sugar per box, priced at HK$300. For each box sold, the CUHK • Care Service Team will deliver a free mooncake to the elderly living alone in Shatin, Tai Po and Ma On Shan. Proceeds from the sales will be donated to the “CUHK 60th Anniversary Artistic Talent Development Fund”, which supports students who are passionate in pursuing studies and careers in music, art, and cultural management to participate in relevant internships or overseas exchange programmes. The Fund will enable the students to broaden their horizons and gain valuable immersive experience in the creative industry sector; escalating their aspirations for future development in the fields of arts.
By enjoying “CUHK Mooncake” with your family and friends, you not only support local enterprises and CUHK students but also share the spirit of giving to the community. The CUHK Mooncakes are limited in stock, so please order now!
* Caritas La Vie is a social enterprise that provides job opportunities for the recovering mentally disabled through its baking workshop.
